The Henke family will offer 39 PTIC Angus Cows, in the Mount Gambier Female Sale on January 19, 2024.
Lakala, located at Mumbannar has been a member of Team Te Mania program since 2012.
Pure Te Mania blood – 39 PTIC cows as follows:
- 22 x 2.5 years heifers (joined from 15 May 2023 to 9 July 2023 – 55 days)
- 11 x 3.5 years R cows
- 6 x 4.5 years Q cows
- Joining sires: R769 and R162
The Lakala herd of 1000 females is managed with an eye on profitability and sustainability. It is run with a strong focus on fertility, carcase traits – marbling and eye muscle area; as well as eye appeal, with muscling and body length to complement the EBVs. Lakala turn off 470-500kg steers, usually to the feedlots at around 14 months of age.
