Te Mania Angus invests in the next generation

The next generation is making a significant impact at Te Mania Angus. Sam Reid has taken charge of integrating Brolga, our newest property, into our operations, focusing on boosting female numbers to support profitable beef production. Brolga’s strategic role extends to enhancing our Mortlake stud operations and accelerating our Angus genetics program.

“We’re excited about the immediate opportunities Brolga presents,” Sam explains. “We’ve launched an autumn joining program for commercial females and expanded our recipient herd using IVF, aiming to advance our Angus breeding initiatives.”

“Caroline and I are thrilled to be here, setting the stage for future success,” he adds.

Returning home, Edward Gubbins looks forward to collaborating with Sam and the team. His expertise in brand marketing and science, combined with Sam’s agribusiness and on-farm management skills, brings valuable depth to Te Mania Angus.

“At Merrang, our goal aligns with Brolga’s strategy,” Edward notes. “We aim to increase our offering of Angus bulls for commercial breeders, ensuring profitability and growth in both our stud enterprise and Angus cattle sales.”

 

“Our focus on sustainable herd management, including optimizing net feed intake, is crucial,” Edward continues. “We’re refining our new selling complex at Merrang to reduce our economic and environmental footprint while meeting the needs of profitable cows and enhancing Angus genetics.”
