Scott & Julia McKay purchased Habbies Howe and its Angus herd, based on Te Mania Angus bloodlines, in 1998.

They run 1000 Angus breeders on Habbies Howe which are joined to 13 Team Te Mania sires for autumn and spring calving. They run an extensive AI program for their heifers.

The aim of the Habbies Howe breeding program is to produce sound, easy care, fertile, quiet females that produce quality weaners.

The use of Te Mania Angus bloodlines and the cattle's reputation for performing is critical to the backgrounder's relationship with feedlots.
